So yesterday, there was a song pandora played that I had not heard in 20 years. I haven't recorded music on my computer, and don't know how. Pandora did say buy song, and when I brought that up, it talked about itunes. Rather than use itunes, can I just record songs as musice files? I have windos 7 and windos media player. Any help is apreciated.
I don't know anything about whether or not there is a way to record directly off Pandora, but what I do when I hear a song I like is to find out the name and/or artist of the song and then look it up on YouTube, and there are ways to get it from YouTube. The good thing about Pandora is that since it shows the artist and title, it makes it very easy to look up on YouTube; the majority of songs I like or learn about, they have. Hope that helps some. *smile*
there's a way to record off of screamer radio with the client.
i wouldn't record of pandora as that is somewhat considered illegal. better to use ITunes or a similar service so you're actually giving back instead of just taking.
Yes it can be done, but it is not legal technically. I do not think it is a problem if you are not selling the songs and you, if you aren't up on how, will not get the best quality.
Some radio clients like Pandora actually have it built in.
So how do I go about recording off you tube? Or, do I open windows media player first? Is there an option on there for recording a file from another source? No, I won't do anything illegal like record off Pandora.
YouTube allows some things to be downloaded, so get an account and look for the button on the things you want.
I am going to check the laws on recording. The reason we are not saying if ywhat to use is because if this information is illegal we'll go against the terms of service.
I do know however, as I have pointed out that some radio clients actually have recording right in the client and are even subscrittion services, or free after you buy the client, so maybe this is a grey area.
If these clinets can offer this service and are not hard to find or on sights that are pushing illegal items, than recording is probably much like it always has been.
If you had a tape recorder connected to your stereo, or radio, you simply record, and poorer quality, what you wanted as long as you didn't sell it.
With digital products and recording you will get as good as the station is producing, so this is were that brey area comes in to play.
If you can't record legally from Pandora, you can replay that song as offten as you want by putting it in your custom station. If you do this you have access to it on all your devices that have or can run Pandora so this solves the issue of having the song handy without the legal grey area.
Okay I did some checking.
The Pandora terms of service forbid recording the stream. If you are suspected your account is suspended without notice or recourse for as long as Pandora decides.
When you agreed to use the service paid, or free, you agreed not to record, so will be subject to these terms.
Good luck.
Thank you. I need to look at windows media player; I am unclear about how to place music files into it. I also have tapin radio which has a whole bunch of internet stations on it. There is a record button on that. So like I say, I need to do some homework. Never too old to learn.
With Windows media player I'll be happy to help. I have posted a board on how to use it. It does not record however, but does a greate job at playing several type of media. If you can't find my post ask and I'll repost it here for you.
Thanks. I found your info. Now I have to work with it.
Sweet!
